The Selfish Balance
When white was born so was black,
How can you see the dark without light,
How can the light shine without dark to shine on,
The stage lights shine down on me,
The child is wrapped in the dark of the alley,
Clear sweat drips down my neck,
Foggy blood drips down her chest,
I raise my arms high and cry with a smile,
She embraces herself and cries in pain,
When white is born so is black,
How can you see the dark without light,

Going behind the dark curtains I can't help but feel guilt,
Going into the light ambulance she can't help but feel hope,
